Summary

Mathieu DeBlois is a visual artist specialized in A/V composition for immersive devices. He is currently pursuing his Master's degree in Volumetric Cinema at the School of Digital Arts, Animation, and Design (NAD-UQAC). His research interests lie in investigating the intersections between temporal sampling, time archives, and space composition, with a specific emphasis on the interplay between digital and physical environments.Through collaboration with digital artists and technophile programmers, Mathieu DeBlois creates immersive experiences that engage and stimulate the senses.

Throughout 2022, Mathieu's artistic research and creations were showcased at various events, including residencies at La SAT and Hexagram, as well as his participation in the ELEKTRA | MATERIA: Labo public event at ilot Balmoral in September. Furthermore, in May 2023, the VR version of Mathieu's collaborative project "L'architecture de souvenirs", developed through multidisciplinary approaches, will debut at the ADAF festival in Athens. Later in October, Mathieu eagerly anticipates embarking on a residency in Iceland, where he plans to take his creative endeavors on a nomadic adventure through the captivating scenery of the country.
